Devastating K-12 Cyber Attacks Highlight Need for
Robust Cybersecurity Measures
Does your tech team have the right tools?
As the school year winds down, it's time to prepare for the next year. Preparation involves more than reviewing curriculum, developing lesson plans, and purchasing educational materials. It also includes supporting your technology teams to defend against the ever-present threat of cyber-attacks. Just as you’ve hired the best reading, math, and science teachers, you know you’ve hired the best technology team. You’ve given your teachers the best tools, test preparation, and guidance. Now, think to yourself: have you provided your technology team with the best tools? Even the best technology teams can’t perform at their highest level without the right resources.
Risk Factors
If you think, “My technology team handles that, so we should be okay,” you are at risk! While implementing data backups, multi-factor authentication, and testing incident response plans are essential, the key differentiator between cyber-ready organizations and those vulnerable to breaches is administrative engagement.
ResoluteGuard has worked with over 350 public entities and found that organizations with strong alignment between administrators and technical teams, regular communication, and adequate financial support fare much better. Organizations that rely solely on their technology teams rarely make the necessary changes to protect themselves, leaving them vulnerable to attacks.
Supporting ESAs
ResoluteGuard provides the needed support for educational service agencies (ESAs) and school districts to implement a governance framework through our proprietary SMART-Cyber Action Plan (SMART-CAP™). The SMART-CAP™ equips administrators with the tools to manage cybersecurity risks similarly to how they administer financial, legal, and other risks.
ResoluteGuard offers a variety of cybersecurity products and services, including:
- Penetration Testing
- Employee Cybersecurity Training and Simulated Phishing Kits
- Vulnerability Assessments
- Policy Templates/Guidance (e.g., Incident Response, Business Continuity)
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
- Managed Security Operations Center (SOC) and Log Monitoring
- Remote Monitoring and Patch Management with Ransomware Detection
- Backup and Recovery
- Third-Party Risk Management Services
Don’t wait until you’ve been breached!
Work with ResoluteGuard to equip your technology staff with proactive solutions to prepare and protect your agency or district against cyber attacks. For more information and exclusive offers for AESA members, visit Educational Service Agencies - ResoluteGuard.
